The Bombers have been scheduled for 333 games over the course of their 17-year history. Of those, 319 have actually been played. There were 14 that ended in forfeits, either for or against. Of those 319 games played, I was there for 327.
Huh? How could I have been there for more games than were actually played? Simple. I was there for all of the forfeits, too. I've missed exactly SIX scheduled games during my time with the team. I've been there, uniform on and ready to go, for 327 of a scheduled 333 games. And that's the main reason why you'll find my name in the #1 position in some of the all-time stats that follow. If you keep showing up, that's what happens.
(Just so you know, I've actually played in 285 of those games. Some of those I didn't play in were due to physically being unable to play [12 missed in 1997, when I had arthroscopic on my knee] or because I had "retired" and was just keeping the book and coaching third [11 missed in 2008]. For every one of those, as well as the other 11 games I didn't end up playing in because of a managerial decision, I was still at the field. If you've been one of my players when I was a manager, either of the Bombers or at M Street, that's why I get pissed when someone doesn't show.)
Anyway, here are the all-time leaders in various batting and pitching categories.
